Ohio law school deans met with leaders of the Ohio Supreme Court, Ohio State Bar Association, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Ohio Metropolitan Bar Association Consortium to talk about key issues, including the new Uniform Bar Exam.
The “Bench Bar Deans Meeting,” at the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center, also included discussions on:
- Enhancing diversity in the legal profession
- Incentivizing the practice of law in rural areas
- Assessing the preparation for the practice of law
- Public outreach efforts.
Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor and Administrative Director Jeff Hagler welcomed the deans from the University of Toledo School of Law; Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit College of Law; Case Western Reserve University School of Law; University of Dayton School of Law; University of Cincinnati College of Law; Cleveland-Marshall College of Law; Capital University Law School; Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law; the University of Akron School of Law; and Salmon P. Chase College of Law in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
The Court also promoted its recent unveiling of “Under Advisement: Ohio Supreme Court Cases on Demand” and its Forum on the Law Lecture Series to help Ohioans learn more about the court systems and to bridge the gap between the public and legal experts in addressing contemporary law-related topics.
