Cadiz Lawyer Appointed to the Harrison County Bench

Governor John R. Kasich today announced the appointment of Thomas Shawn Hervey of Cadiz to serve as a judge on the Harrison County Court of Common Pleas, General and Domestic Relations Divisions.

Hervey will assume office on June 7, 2013, and must run in November 2014 to retain the seat for full term commencing April 18, 2015. Hervey is replacing Michael Nunner, who retired.

Hervey received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from The Ohio State University in 1994, and earned his juris doctorate from the University of Toledo School of Law in 1997. Since February 2003, he has served as a prosecuting attorney for Harrison County.

Hervey is involved in Harrison County’s youth soccer and baseball programs, and is an elder at the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz. He is also a chairperson for the Ohio Prosecuting Attorney Association, of which he has been a member since 1997.
