Governor John R. Kasich today announced that he is appointing Clifford N. Sickler of Lewisville to serve as a judge on the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas, Probate and Juvenile Division effective June 4.

Sickler will replace Judge Walter Starr, who retired.

Sickler received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Kent State University in 1974, and earned his juris doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law in 1977. He has served previously as the Noble County prosecutor.

Sickler must run in November 2014 to retain the seat for the full term commencing February 9, 2015.
