Governor Fills Vacancy on Jefferson County Court

On April 13, Lisa K. Ferguson will become the newest judge on the Jefferson County Court, after her appointment on Tuesday by Gov. John R. Kasich.

Ferguson replaces Judge Joseph M. Corabi, who was elected to the Jefferson County Probate/Juvenile Court in November. Ferguson must win in the November 2016 general election to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends Jan. 1, 2019.

Ferguson received her bachelor’s degree from West Liberty University and her law degree from West Virginia University. Past experience includes private law practice and management work with D&L Ferguson and D&L Unlimited Construction. She was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio on May 20, 2002.

She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and Jefferson County Bar Association. Ferguson is also involved in the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Jefferson County.
