Former Prosecutor Begins New Role On Bench

Judge Brandon S. Myers
A new judge took the bench last week in Montgomery County.
Judge Brandon S. Myers of Phillipsburg was appointed to an empty municipal court seat. To retain the position, Judge Myers must run for election in November.
"I am honored to accept this appointment to serve the residents of Montgomery County. This transition from prosecutor to the bench represents an opportunity to continue my career in public service,” said Judge Myers. “Municipal Court is often a person’s first contact with the justice system. I look forward to serving the community in this new role by ensuring the fair and impartial administration of justice and treating everyone who comes before the court with respect, regardless of their circumstances.”
Judge Myers most recently served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Miami County Prosecutor’s Office, where he had worked since 2023 before accepting his judicial appointment. He began his law career serving as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Montgomery County.
Judge Myers is a 2012 graduate of Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminology and political science. He went on to earn his juris doctorate from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2015.
