As part of its America 250 initiative, the Supreme Court of Ohio has unveiled a series of monthly exhibits in its newly renovated Marble Showcase. The rotating exhibits celebrate Ohio's rich history, culture, and contributions to the nation in anticipation of America’s 250th anniversary.
Each month, the Marble Showcase will spotlight a unique theme, weaving together storytelling and artifacts to educate and inspire visitors.
Monthly Themes: A Year of Storytelling and Discovery
The Marble Showcase serves as a centerpiece of the Supreme Court of Ohio’s America 250 celebration. Each month highlights a theme reflecting Ohio’s diverse role in shaping the nation’s past, present, and future.
Upcoming 2026 themes include:
- March 2026: Ohio Entertains
Highlighting Ohio’s contributions to music, entertainment, and film, this exhibit will feature the famous Sam Sheppard case, which inspired the TV series and movie The Fugitive. - April 2026: Ohio Moves
Focusing on transportation, this exhibit will explore the history of Ohio’s off-site court sessions and their role in bringing justice directly to communities. - May 2026: Ohio Creates
Celebrating arts, culture, and literature, this exhibit will feature the Magna Carta and examine its influence on Ohio’s legal traditions. - June 2026: Ohio Outdoors
Showcasing Ohio’s natural resources, this exhibit will display official state symbols, from the state wildflower to the state bird. - July 2026: Ohio Gathers

The Court is celebrating the semiquincentennial, America's 250th Birthday, with a year-long celebration called “The Story of America" highlighting significant historical events. Beyond digital content, the celebration includes events and displays at the Court. The initiative aims to spark curiosity, enhance civic literacy, and honor key moments in American and Ohio history at supremecourt.ohio.gov/am250.
