Attorneys Can Earn Four Hours of CLE Serving as Poll Workers This November

Attorneys can earn continuing education credit by serving as poll workers.
With statewide, congressional, and local offices up for grabs, attorneys can help ensure Election Day goes smoothly. Attorneys can join the ranks of poll workers by serving in their communities across the state.
The Ohio Secretary of State’s Office has partnered with the Supreme Court of Ohio to offer the Lawyers for Liberty program. Attorneys can earn four hours of continuing legal education (CLE) for serving as a poll worker during the Nov. 3 general election. And attorneys can earn up to 12 hours of CLE for poll worker service in every two-year compliance period. Attorneys can register as poll workers through the secretary of state’s website.
To earn four CLE hours, attorneys must complete precinct election training and work the entire voting day. Poll workers are also compensated for both their training and service.
For more information about the attorney poll worker program, the Supreme Court’s Registration and Continuing Legal Education Section produced a webpage dedicated to frequently asked questions.
