The Ohio Board of Professional Conduct will begin the new year under new leadership. Attorney Teri R. Daniel will serve as chair, and attorney Richard L. Creighton will serve as vice-chair. Their one-year terms began on Jan. 1, 2026.

Daniel, of Painesville, was first appointed to the board in 2018 and was recently reappointed to her third full term. She currently serves as vice-chair. Throughout her tenure, she has served on the board’s Advisory Opinion Committee and chairs one of two probable cause panels. Daniel is the supervising attorney of the appellate division for the Lake County Prosecuting Attorney and frequently practices before the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Creighton, of Cincinnati, is a senior partner in the Cincinnati law firm of Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL (KMK Law). He has served on the conduct board since 2025. With more than five decades of legal experience, Creighton focuses his practice on complex litigation matters. Creighton served for many years on the Cincinnati Bar Association Grievance Committee and on the Board on the Unauthorized Practice of Law of the Supreme Court of Ohio.

The Board of Professional Conduct consists of 28 volunteer members appointed by the Supreme Court of Ohio justices. The board conducts hearings involving allegations of ethical violations by Ohio lawyers and judges and recommends discipline for professional misconduct.

The board also engages in education and outreach activities that promote compliance with legal ethics rules and bring greater transparency to the disciplinary process.
