February Ohio Bar Exam Results Announced

More than 143 aspiring attorneys pass the February Bar Exam.

The Supreme Court of Ohio today released the results from the February 2026 Ohio Bar Examination. A total of 338 aspiring attorneys took the exam, and 143 – or 42% – passed. Of the 116 examinees who took the exam for the first time, 71 (61%) received a passing score. The successful examinees represent 38 Ohio counties and seven states.

Those who meet all requirements for admission to the Ohio legal profession will be sworn in as attorneys during a special session of the Supreme Court in Columbus at the Palace Theatre on Monday, May 18 at 2 p.m. The Bar Admissions ceremony also will be livestreamed on the Supreme Court website.

Following the ceremony, the new attorneys and their guests are invited to the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center. The Ohio State Bar Association will host a reception in the Grand Concourse, including food, complimentary headshots, and photos inside the courtroom in front of the Supreme Court bench. The Supreme Court Office of Attorney Services Registration & CLE Section will be available with information on attorney registration, new lawyer training, and the Court’s Lawyer to Lawyer Mentoring Program.

The following organizations will also be present to answer questions from new attorneys:

  • Office of Disciplinary Counsel, Supreme Court of Ohio
  • Ohio Board of Professional Conduct
  • Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection
  • Ohio Access to Justice Foundation
  • Ohio pro bono organizations

The bar exam is administered twice a year by the Court, which regulates the practice of law in Ohio, including the admission of new attorneys, the biennial registration of current attorneys, attorney discipline in cases of misconduct, and the administration of continuing legal education.
