Hamilton Lawyer Halcomb to Replace Justice Kennedy on Butler County Domestic Relations Court

Governor John R. Kasich today announced the appointment of Margot B. Halcomb of Hamilton (Butler Co.) to serve as a judge on the Butler County Domestic Relations Court.

Halcomb will assume office on April 2, 2013, and must run in November 2014 to retain the seat for the unexpired term, which ends January 3, 2017. Halcomb is replacing Sharon Kennedy, who was elected to the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Halcomb received a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University in Oxford, and earned her juris doctorate from Capital University Law School. From 1996 to 2007, she served as a magistrate on the Hamilton Municipal Court.

Halcomb has been involved in organizations such as the Hamilton Rotary Club, YWCA of Hamilton, the Hamilton Jr. Women’s League, and the Great Miami Valley YMCA. Since 2007, she has been the vice president and trust officer at First Financial Bank. She lives in Hamilton with her husband, Todd, and their three children, Christian, 14, Madeline, 12, and Clare, 10.
