A former Summit County Court Common Pleas Judge will serve as the new Barberton Municipal Court judge starting April 21. Governor John Kasich appointed Todd M. McKenney of Akron to replace Judge Christine L. Croce. Croce was recently appointed to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas, General Division.

McKenney must run in November 2015 to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends December 31, 2017.

“I can’t wait to get started in my service as a municipal court judge,” McKenney said. “Everyone has been so helpful. I am just so grateful, and it will be such an honor to serve.”

McKenney works at Leiby, Hann, Rasnick, Towne, Evanchan, Palmisano & Hobson, LLC as a private practice attorney. He previously served as a State Representative for the 43rd Ohio House District and as a judicial law clerk to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. McKenney received his law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
