Governor Fills Vacant Clinton County Judgeship

Gov. John Kasich today appointed the New Vienna and Clarksville solicitor/prosecutor to fill a judicial vacancy on the Clinton County Municipal Court.

Michael T. Daugherty will take the bench on July 7. He must win in this November’s general election to retain the seat for the full six-year term commencing Jan. 1, 2016. Daugherty replaces Judge Chad L. Carey, who was elected in November to the Clinton County Probate/Juvenile Court.

Daugherty received his undergraduate degree from Wilmington College and his law degree from the University of Dayton. His experience includes service as president of the Clinton County Bar Association and treasurer of the Fayette County Bar Association. In addition, he has served on numerous advisory boards in Clinton and surrounding counties. He was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio on Nov. 14, 1994.
