Tenth District Court of Appeals Judge Lisa L. Sadler served as a visiting judge on the Ohio Supreme Court today.

Judge Sadler sat for Justice Melody J. Stewart, who recused herself from State of Ohio v. Mitchell Hartman, Case no. 2019-0184. The case involves whether a victim’s testimony about a defendant’s prior conviction was properly admitted in a rape case.

“Being asked to be a visiting judge to the Ohio Supreme Court is one of the most rewarding professional experiences a judge can have,” Judge Sadler said. “It’s an honor and privilege to be asked.”

Since July 2003, Judge Sadler has served on the Tenth District. Previously, she served on the Franklin County Common Pleas Court and the Franklin County Municipal Court.

Her legal career also includes service as deputy chief legal counsel to the late Gov. George Voinovich and as Columbus assistant city attorney. Judge Sadler earned her bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and her law degree from Capital University Law School.
