The Ohio Supreme Court will welcome former Ohio State University football star Maurice Clarett as its speaker at the annual Black History Month celebration Feb. 26, 2018.

Clarett helped lead the Buckeyes to a 2002 national championship.  In the years that followed, he made a series of bad decisions, derailed his career, and eventually landed in prison.

Now he has turned his life around, which includes co-founding a non-profit, the Red Zone, to help impressionable teens in his hometown of Youngstown deal with drugs, alcohol, and mental illness.

Clarett will speak it the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center’s main courtroom at 1 p.m. His speech is entitled “Setting Targets for Your Life.”

The program will be live-streamed via the Court’s website and the Ohio Channel’s website.
