The Supreme Court of Ohio will welcome the public for free after-hours tours of the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center this September as part of the Ohio History Connection's annual Ohio Open Doors program. This year's tours carry special significance, aligning with the America 250 celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the nation's founding.

Visitors will explore one of the state's most striking landmarks. The 15-story building sits on the east bank of the Scioto River and features a blend of Art-Deco styling and Beaux-Arts architecture. Listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, the Moyer Judicial Center serves as the home of the Supreme Court of Ohio. Guided tours showcase the building's inspirational artwork, museum-quality finishes, and the historic Grand Concourse and Courtroom.

Guided tours of the Moyer Judicial Center are available on the following dates and times:

• Thursday, Sept. 10 — 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, Sept. 15 — 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The Ohio History Connection created Ohio Open Doors in 2016 to promote and inspire pride in Ohio's heritage and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act. The program features tours of historic buildings and fascinating places across the state. Ohio Open Doors are held every other year, and this year’s event joins the nationwide America 250 commemoration honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States.
