Seats of Justice: Tuscarawas County
The next stop on the journey through Ohio’s county courthouses takes viewers to Tuscarawas County in eastern Ohio.
Located in New Philadelphia, the Tuscarawas County courthouse represents the Beaux-Arts movement. Featuring classic Romanesque and Renaissance-style details, the courthouse closely resembles its original appearance following a restoration in the 1990s.
The building’s interior is adorned with locally sourced walnut woodwork and original murals depicting the county’s history. Displayed artifacts, including the original courthouse clock, further highlight Tuscarawas County’s rich past.
