Seats of Justice: Morrow County
Largely unchanged since its dedication nearly two centuries ago, the beautiful Morrow County Courthouse offers visitors a glimpse into the past.
Although the courthouse has been renovated several times since it was built in 1854, it maintains many of its original architectural features, including a fireplace and ornate woodwork. In preserving its past, the courthouse, designed by David Auld, materializes an unshakeable commitment to justice.
The seat of Morrow County, founded in 1848, is Mount Gilead, a rural area that is home to a tight-knit community. The city is just southwest of Blooming Grove, the birthplace Warren G. Harding, the 29th president of the United States.
