Seats of Justice: Stark County

The next stop on the Supreme Court’s tour of Ohio’s county courthouses takes viewers to the northeastern part of the state in historic Stark County.

Founded in 1809, Stark County is anchored by its county seat, Canton. The city is known for its vibrant arts scene, diverse restaurants, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Steeped in history, the Stark County Courthouse is an iconic local site. Among its most notable features are the Trumpeters of Justice and the four bronze angels crowning the courthouse’s clock tower. The courthouse also houses the McKinley Room, where President William McKinley once practiced law.
